Museo Beatle, Buenos Aires

Museo Beatle is a paid Beatles museum inside the Paseo La Plaza complex at Avenida Corrientes 1660 in central Buenos Aires. It opened in 2011 to display the private collection of Rodolfo Vázquez, who also runs The Cavern Buenos Aires bar, and whose collection Guinness World Records has certified as the largest of its kind.

One collector's archive

The museum grew out of Rodolfo Vázquez's personal collection. Guinness World Records has certified it as the world's largest Beatles collection twice, in 2001 and in 2011. The museum opened in Paseo La Plaza in 2011, and Ringo Starr visited that same year. The City of Buenos Aires later declared it of cultural and tourist interest.

The size of the collection depends on when you ask. An older guide put the Guinness figure above 8,500 items, with about 2,000 on display. A 2015 El Día report gave more than 9,000. Coverage in 2026 says more than 11,000 objects. The reports don't explain the difference, so treat those numbers as snapshots rather than one fixed count.

What is in the cases

La Nación listed several pieces with a direct line to Liverpool and the band: a brick from the Cavern Club, a floor tile from the entrance of Strawberry Field, and a cheque signed by Ringo Starr. Lighter items include a Beatles novelty wig and 64 boxes of chewing gum shaped like miniature albums.

Other reports describe birth certificates, autographs, letters, concert tickets and programmes, film reels, recordings in several formats, porcelain, dolls, music boxes, instruments and toys. A 2026 Indie Hoy article also mentions a replica Abbey Road crossing and a bed set styled after Lennon and Yoko Ono that visitors use for photos. School groups come for lessons built around the band.

Is it still open?

Yes, going by 2026 coverage. An April 2026 article gave daily hours of 18:00 to midnight, with tickets at ARS 7,000 for Argentine residents and ARS 12,000 for foreign visitors. A June 2026 piece marking World Beatles Day also described it as operating. An older guide lists daytime weekday hours, and the venue's own site says only that prices differ for residents and foreigners, so check before you go.

A 2021 report described the museum as relaunched within The Cavern Buenos Aires in the same complex. The bar serves food and has live music, and Vázquez also organises an annual Beatles Week with a fan fair and a tribute-band contest.
