The Beatles spent only two days performing in the Netherlands, and both left a memorial. On 5 June 1964 they taped a VARA television show at Treslong, a bulb-trading hall in Hillegom, with Jimmie Nicol standing in for Ringo Starr. The hall was demolished in 2005, and since 8 June 2019 a steel monument by Nicolas Dings in nearby Van Nispenpark has marked the visit.

The next day, 6 June 1964, the band played two shows in the auction hall at Blokker, their only public concerts in the country. Groningen sculptor Harma Heikens made the Blokker monument, a concrete record sleeve on a small stage, unveiled exactly 35 years later on 6 June 1999.

That date runs through the Beatles Museum Alkmaar too. Collector Azing Moltmaker opened it on 6 June 1981 in a small room in Krommenie and moved it to Alkmaar in 1995. Since 2016 it has been on Pettemerstraat, a short walk from the station.

Amsterdam's site belongs to Lennon after the band. From 25 to 31 March 1969, days after their wedding in Gibraltar, he and Yoko Ono held their bed-in at the Hilton on the Apollolaan and let the press into the suite every day. The hotel now rents it as the John and Yoko Suite.
